We were boys and girls and then we were men and women. We lived passive unconscious lives. Until one day we decided to drop the delusion and challenge the very foundations of principle our British ancestors has handed down to us. The penny dropped. For we realised that life growing up in boarding school had scarred us severely. So we decided to take our fates into our own hands. We journeyed to the Isle of Avalon, Glastonbury town and embarked upon a three-day shadow work retreat at Sambogaya Retreat Centre, where we delved deep into the depths of our souls, each treading down a very painful road to bring home a very lonely part of our lost but never forgotten gold.

This documentary is an intimate tapestry of memoirs, the very blood, sweat and tears woven in through each participants process of healing.

Piers, our narrator, a fellow survivor, guides the viewers through a journey many of us wouldn't dare to tread. Others may bear the bravery to look at our past, not only as individual survivors of boarding school, but as a society that has passed down an evil for centuries out of ignorance.

The documentary shares a cascade of interviews with global experts talking about the impact of boarding school on our psyches. And through the filmed journey of the retreat the viewers can too can learn to heal. For I believe this is not just about boarding school trauma. This same hidden evil seeps through the cracks all over the world in history and present times. So whether you are a survivor of any kind of trauma ranging from boarding school, through domestic violence, to sexual abuse, to war, there is hope for us all.

I believe this documentary is not only important to us and hopefully you, but also to those yet to walk the face of the earth, lest history repeats itself. For I believe the first and bravest step in making positive change starts with awareness.
