Truth or Delusion

What do you choose; truth or delusion? Do you put all your energy into manufacturing a safe delusion for you to identify as guarded by a fierce army of denialism, or do you face the rawness of reality as it is and accept that, no matter how perceivably 'good' or 'bad' it may seem to you? What do you do when the delusions start to crack and shatter and it's all burned away now and you're left with nothing to hold on to? What do you do when the one thing your whole life you've sought to run away from, is the only thing left and it's fiery red eyes are starring deep through the eyes of your soul and devour all false hopes you desperately clung on to?

I keep reminding myself 'this too shall pass.' Because it always does. The moment seems so far away, like I'm lodged in place enviously spectating the achievements of greater men and women. I watch empty moments come and go. Things move on. Things change. Memories of people and journeys that once gave a sense of joy in life erode. The past has set sail into the night ready to be shattered by the strong gails, and swallowed up by the endless void of nihilism. The past gets smaller and smaller, this moment gets more empty and the future seems more hopeless.

Yet here I am, existing. Still persisting, still writing about it. Still seeking a way through the night to return to my brothers and sisters who I love most dearly.

I love you all. ❤️🙏
